Asphalt was mixed in the Chinese city of Taixing (province Jiangsu) for the very first time just a few weeks ago. Taixing Jinhua Highway Maintenance Co. Ltd. commissioned the prototype of a new mixing plant developed specifically for the Chinese market. The UG3 is a mid-segment asphalt mixing plant with an output of 240 tonnes per hour; it was developed in just four months by a 20-strong team working at the Ammann site in Alfeld (Germany) and at the company's headquarters in Langenthal (Switzerland).

The plant was manufactured and assembled in China in a record-breaking eight weeks. It is based on the tried and tested Just Black and Uniglobe NG concepts and is equipped with a 56 tonne hot aggregate silo and Amix 2-3 mixer.
